There was 35 Hours in Our Day
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
January 04, 2015
We departed for the airport at midnight and had a brief moment of panic when we were not sure where our print out of where the tickets were. You are not allowed to enter the airport without proof of having a flight booked. When we found the printout, it only had Bill's name on it, so hopefully they let me in.
It was not a problem. Our next issue was that our seats are not together for the 8 hour flight to Frankfurt. UGH! We went through the security line and found a seat near our gate. I bought a Starbucks mug for myself and then listened to my book "Sand Queen" to kill the time. Bill tried to switch our seats at the gate, but they were unable to do so.
Once we boarded the plane, Bill's middle seat mate was kind enough to give up his seat for my aisle seat. I spent the majority of the flight asleep thanks to being exhausted (it was after 3am local time when we took off) and Gravol. Bill slept dozed on and off for most of the flight too.
We arrived in Frankfurt at 7:30 am and cleared security, loaded up at Duty Free and then had a quick salad, beer and secco at Deli Bros. We had a slight delay for deicing and had lots of turbulence during the flight, so we landed in Toronto 1 1/2 hours late.
After 25 hours of travel we made it home safe and sound! We are very happy to be home with our girls and we will probably call it an early night. It is going to be a long week at work!
Our final thoughts on India:
If you want to see some beautiful and unique things and have an adventurous spirit, then this place is for you.
If you are not very mobile or if you are a germaphobe, it's not for you
Traffic is a nightmare and you want to thank God, Shiva, Allah and all other supreme beings every time you get out of a moving vehicle alive!
If you want to delight your palate, you will not be disappointed. We did not have to worry about the food being too spicy or getting sick at all
Begging was an issue of course, but we did not find that it was any different than other countries we have traveled to over the past 6 years
Thanks everyone for sharing in our adventures! Hope you enjoyed the blog as much as we enjoyed writing it!
