On the Way

It is a very unusual start to a T & B Humphrey Adventure and I am sorely missing my favourite travel companion.

So, how can it be a T & B Humphrey Adventure without Bill you ask? Well, that is because he has already travelled ahead to Manila for work and I am going to spend the next 24 hours catching up.

KB was gracious enough to keep me company this evening and give me a lovely send off! We are so grateful as always that she is going to love our girls while we are away.

I was solo riding the rails & bus to the airport, but I am even more excited than I would normally be for vacation because not only do I get to explore new countries, but I get to be reunited with my cutie pie! I can’t wait! I am so glad that I am so exhausted that I will sleep for most of the flight (hopefully) and the time will pass that much faster.

I woke up as we were flying over Petropamlovsk-Kamchatskiy 9 1/2 hours into the flight, over 5,060 miles in and 2,600 more miles to Taipei or 5 and 1/2 more hours to go. Toronto time is 11:30 am. Being really tired before a long flight has some great advantages.

The rest of the flight I spent watching some English subtitled TV shows about exploring Taiwan and the movie The Book Club. And maybe had a bit of a nap...

The flight landed on time, so that gave me lots of time to find a lounge, relax, have a drink, something to eat and freshen up for my next flight.

I was unable to lose my way to my next flight as there was a human runway of 8 young people to guide me to the transfer security check point. Too funny!

I enjoyed beef noodle soup and steamed buns with fermented food in the Premium Lounge while waiting for my connection. The wifi was spotty so I could not talk to Bill, but we will be together for 14 days straight sooooooon!!!

When I arrived at the gate I realized that I did not have my pillow. I had used it in the for my back lounge. It was 30 min before our flight time and they had not started boarding, so I went back and retrieved it. I was back to the gate within 15 min, and they had boarded the entire flight. I was the last one to board. Man are they ever efficient!
