Bye Bye Italy

Bill and I set the alarm for 6am to be able to see the sunrise. We did a bit more packing (very slowly in my case) and then walked back to the spot from the night before.

It was fairly cloudy, but the sky was still pretty and it was great to get one last view of the city. We then headed over to the Vatican for one last view, but could not get close due to the planned appearance by Pope Francis again today.

We finished packing and had time for one last breakfast to finish off our fresh eggs and porchetta.

Our driver was on time and we ended up arriving really early for our flight. We had to wait an hour for Air Transit to begin checking us in. After that, it took an hour to go through security and customs, then Bill and I sat down at a a bar to have a drink and bite to eat. After Lou and Barry finished at security, they joined us for lunch. It was great to discuss the trip and share our highlights with them. Then Louise spit on Bill for a customary thank you and lunch was over.

After that, we headed to our flight, grabbed some drinks and snacks, then boarded.

Of to home! - It was a great trip and we trust everyone enjoyed it as much as everyone else did
