Chiang Mai:
A great tourist destination
Cheaper than Bangkok
More things to do than Bangkok
Easier to navigate than Bangkok
Tuk Tuks are good!
Very little culture shock - easy to find familiar food, ect
Great silver and silk to purchase
Can do the city cheapy or go 5 star all the way
Much cleaner than Bangkok
The people are very nice, have a great sense of humour and love to sing
The food can be very good or below average (normally the restaurants that try to do a bit of everything, fail to do anything well)
All in all, a great city to visit
