Hey Ewe, Get the Flock of the Road

After grabbing an American and a Chai Latte in the city centre, Bill drove us to to Isle of Skye. Along the way we stopped in a couple of spots to take some photos. The view for the entire drive is stunning - beautiful glass-like blue lakes, luscious green hills, blue skies filled with fluffy white clouds.

We parked at the Talisker Distillery and walked up the hill to The Oyster Shed. We ordered some amazing food - oysters, crab, smoked salmon, smoked halibut, and shallots. Everything was very affordable and delicious. We ate standing beside a cask used for whiskey with a view of the hills and water.

Bill and Doug browsed the Talisker gift shop and Bill bought two glasses. Mike led our excellent tasting. The information he shared about the whisky along with the videos were very well executed.

We tasted Talisker 10, Skye, and Storm. I enjoyed Skye the most. It was just a bit smoky with hints of caramel and citrus.

We drove back toward Sligachan Old Bridge and stopped to explore the area and take photos. It was very quiet and beautiful.

We walked across the street and had some whisky and wine while we played cards. I was the big winner today - we are all tied. We picked up some local beer and drove into Portree to have dinner. The first place we tried was completely booked, but had luck at the next spot.

We had a great meal at the Bosville Bar. Sheila and Doug enjoyed their soup and the venison was prepared really well. Bill and Doug really like the scalloped potatoes.

After dinner we headed toward the famous The Old Man of Storr and found our Airbnb.

We started some laundry and played some cards. Bill managed to hand Doug the victory tonight.
